Travel ban lawyers in the UAE
Whether you have been stopped at the airport or simply want to be sure before you fly, we find the case behind the ban and work to have it lifted.
A UAE travel ban stops you leaving the country until the case behind it is resolved. Most bans come from unpaid debts, bank cases, rental claims, labour matters or a criminal complaint, and each has its own route to removal.
We confirm whether a ban exists, identify the authority and case number, and then work on the fastest legitimate route to lift it: payment, a settlement with the claimant, security deposited with the court, or a formal application.
How we can help
Checking and verifying travel ban status
We check through the official channels for your emirate and case type, including Dubai Police, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and federal services, and confirm the case number and the authority that issued the ban.
Lifting bans arising from civil or financial claims
Where the ban comes from a civil judgment, an execution file or a debt claim, we work out exactly what the court needs to release it and prepare the request.
Negotiating with claimants to release bans
Many bans end fastest by agreement. We approach the bank, landlord or creditor on your behalf, negotiate terms you can meet and make sure the release is part of the deal in writing.
Court applications and grievances against bans
If a ban was imposed without proper grounds, or the conditions for keeping it no longer apply, we prepare grievances and applications to the court that issued it.
Bans linked to criminal or police matters
Criminal complaints, including some cheque and fraud cases, can carry their own travel restriction. We clarify the stage of the case and the steps that close it.
From first call to resolution
Tell us what you know
Share your Emirates ID or passport details and anything you have received: SMS alerts, court notices, bank letters. A first conversation is usually enough to plan the checks.
Confirm the ban and its source
We verify the status through the official services and identify every open case, because one person can have more than one ban from different emirates.
Choose the route
Payment, settlement, security or an application: we explain what each option costs, how long it usually takes and what the claimant is likely to accept.
Act and document
We prepare the paperwork, negotiate where needed and obtain the written releases, settlement letters or court decisions that the authorities rely on.
Confirm it is lifted
We check the status again once the release is processed, so you travel with confidence rather than hope.
Why travel bans happen
A travel ban is a precautionary order. Courts, public prosecution and some authorities use it to make sure a person stays in the UAE while a claim against them is resolved. In civil and commercial matters, the current civil procedure rules allow a creditor to ask for a ban where the debt is known, due and at least AED 10,000, and where there is a real risk that the debtor may leave. In criminal matters, the public prosecution can restrict travel while a case is investigated or tried.
The most common sources we see are unpaid personal loans and credit cards, bounced security cheques, rental claims at the Rental Disputes Centre, employer and labour disputes, and execution files where a judgment has not been paid.
What a ban check does and does not tell you
The official online services usually confirm whether a ban or circular exists and give a short reason. They do not always show the full file, the amount claimed or what the claimant would accept. That is why we treat the check as the start of the work, not the end of it. Our guide on how to check a travel ban in the UAE sets out every official route, and the guide on how to lift a travel ban explains the options in more detail.
If you are outside the UAE
Many clients contact us from abroad. A ban does not stop you dealing with the case remotely: settlements can be negotiated, documents signed digitally or through a power of attorney, and payments made through the proper channels, so the ban can often be resolved before you return.
Travel Ban: your questions
You can check through official services such as the Dubai Police app or website, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and federal services. If the result is unclear, or you have cases in more than one emirate, we can carry out the checks and confirm every open case for you.
A bank cannot impose a ban itself, but it can ask the court for one when it files a claim for an unpaid loan or credit card, if the legal conditions are met. Settling with the bank and obtaining a written release is often the fastest way to have it lifted.
It depends on the route. Once a debt is paid or settled and the release is filed, removal can be quick. Contested applications take longer. We give you a realistic timeline once we know which authority and case are involved.
Often, yes. Negotiation, documents and payments can usually be handled remotely, and a power of attorney lets someone act for you here if a signature or attendance is needed.
Fees are quoted after the first consultation, once we know how many cases are involved and which route makes sense. The fee is agreed in writing before any work begins.
